Tour Overview
Live like royalty for 6 nights, 7 days. Stay in 3 different castles. Explore these 17th and 18th century castles that have been transformed into 4 and 5 star amazing hotels. They have all the old world charm but have all the modern conveniences of any 5 star hotel. You can take your time exploring the surrounding countryside and all it has to offer and then return to enjoy the luxury of your accommodation. You can enjoy the beautiful grounds that these castles have, some having walled gardens that you can explore too!
You stay for two nights in Fitzpatrick's Castle in South Dublin. While there you can explore the Ancient East, and then you go North West to stay in Co Roscommon's Kilronan Castle, and Donegal's Lough Eske Castle, or similar Castles. You can visit places like Glendalough, Powerscourt House and gardens, Newgrange, Sliabh Liag cliffs, Lisadell House, and so much more.
Suggested Itinerary
Day 1
Pick up your rental car at the airport and make your way
to Powerscourt House and Gardens. Explore the gardens and waterfall. Then make your way to the ancient site of Glendalough to explore St Kevin's round tower and the two beautiful lakes there. Return to your first Castle.. Fitzpatrick's Castle in Killiney, enjoy a good meal and relax, have a swim in the pool or workout in the gym.
Day 2
Take off today and go north visiting the ancient underground passage tomb of Newgrange. You could also take some time to check out the coastal town of Howth with its beautiful cliff walk. You will stay for your second night in Fitzpatrick's Castle.
Day 3
Driving across country today to Co Roscommon where you stay in Kilronan Castle for two nights. On your way you can take in some interesting places. Visit Strokestown House and famine musuem, Take a stroll around Lough Key Forest Park and visit the 12th century Abbey in Boyle Co Roscommon before taking the scenic drive to your accommodation.
Day 4
You have lakes and forests, small quaint towns and villages to explore today, you could also go to Arigna Mines. The drive is breath-taking. You go up through the Arigna mountain drive where you can see for miles. The mines are now a tourist attraction where you get a tour through the mines. Pop into Carrick-on-Shannon where you can visit the smallest Church in the world, visit Leitrim Crystal or just check out some of the great restaurants. Return to your accommodation and enjoy a spa treatment or a swim in the pool.
Day 5
Go to Donegal today taking in the coastal drive of Mullaghmore. You can also visit the last resting place of one of your greatest poets..WB Yeats in Drumcliff, and you could also take in Lisadell House in Sligo. Then make you way to Lough Eske Castle just outside Donegal town. Enjoy the beautiful walled garden there or just relax in the comfort of this beautiful Castle.
Day 6
Take a drive to the highest cliffs in Ireland today....Sliabh Liag and enjoy the stunning breath-taking scenery while there. You could take a packed lunch with you and take a hike on the beautiful cliff walk. You could then take a trip to Killybegs fishing village where you will get the most delicious fresh fish food.
Day 7
You return to Dublin airport today to catch your evening flight back home and say goodbye to Ireland until the next time.
