The Temple House Manor Home Experience is a 9-day / 8-night luxury small-group tour running April 7–15, 2027, centered on an exclusive stay at Temple House — a magnificent Georgian manor set on a 1,000-acre private estate in County Sligo. Unlike a standard hotel tour, this trip places the entire group inside a working historic family home that has belonged to the Perceval family since 1665. Guests arrive via a half-mile private avenue through parkland, settle into spacious, elegantly furnished bedrooms, and enjoy open fires in the lounge, boats on the estate lake, and free-roaming grounds with views of a 13th-century Knights Templar castle. The tour is designed for up to 10 couples, keeping the experience genuinely intimate. The final night is spent at the four-star Fitzpatrick's Castle in Killiney, South Dublin, perched above Dublin Bay with pool, spa, and dining facilities.

Daily guided excursions sweep through the best of Ireland's Northwest and beyond, covering a remarkable range of experiences. Highlights include the prehistoric megalithic cemetery at Carrowmore (over 5,000 years old), the Marble Arch Caves in County Fermanagh, the sea cliffs of Sliabh Liag, Kylemore Abbey in Connemara, Westport House, Knock Shrine, Belleek Pottery in Northern Ireland, Glencar Waterfall (immortalized by W.B. Yeats), and the haunting 12th-century Boyle Abbey. One full day is set aside with no excursions — guests can paddleboard, join a nature walk, take out a boat on the lake, or simply rest on the estate grounds.

Included in the price are airport transfers, 7 nights at Temple House and 1 night at Fitzpatrick's Castle, 8 breakfasts, 1 evening meal, all venue entry fees on the itinerary, a comfortable motor coach with expert driver, a dedicated Secret Ireland Tours guide, a traditional music evening, snacks and soft drinks on the bus, and all accommodation and transport taxes. Lunches, most evening meals, international flights, travel insurance, laundry, and tips are not covered. Guests should not book flights until given the go-ahead by the operator. Full balance is due 50 days before departure, and installment plans are available. A basic level of fitness is required for some excursions — guests unable to manage hill walks or rough terrain can remain on the bus with the driver.

Activity Type: This is a sightseeing, cultural immersion, and estate retreat tour with predominantly low to moderate activity levels. Most excursion days involve leisurely walks through historic sites, abbey ruins, coastal viewpoints, and town centers. The Sliabh Liag cliff walk can be more demanding depending on the route chosen. Some sites involve uneven or cobbled terrain — waterproof walking shoes and windproof outerwear are strongly recommended. Day 7 is a full rest day at Temple House with optional activities including paddleboarding, yoga (instructor available on request), nature walks, and boating. Guests who cannot manage hill walks or rough terrain may remain on the coach.

Accommodation: Guests spend 7 nights at Temple House Manor, a 10-room Georgian estate on a 1,000-acre private estate in County Sligo (exclusive-use, up to 20 guests). The final night is at Fitzpatrick's Castle Hotel, Killiney, South Dublin — a 4-star property with pool, spa, gym, two bars, and two restaurants. All rooms are en-suite.

Day 1 — Belvedere House, Lough Key Forest Park & Boyle Abbey

Guests are collected from the airport and head west, stopping first at Belvedere House on the shores of Lough Ennell — a Georgian estate with a deeply unsettling history, including the infamous Jealous Wall built by an earl who imprisoned his wife for 30 years. The group then visits Lough Key Forest Park, home to an 11th-century island castle ruin, followed by the finely preserved 12th-century Boyle Abbey before arriving at Temple House for the first night.

Day 2 — Mullaghmore Coast, Sliabh Liag & Sligo Abbey

A dramatic coastal drive along Mullaghmore in County Sligo is followed by a trip to the towering sea cliffs of Sliabh Liag in County Donegal, rising 601 meters above the Atlantic. The day closes with a visit to Sligo Abbey, a 13th-century Dominican friary in the heart of Sligo town, before returning to Temple House.

Day 3 — Knock Shrine & Galway City

The group visits Knock Shrine in County Mayo, site of the famous 1879 Marian apparition and one of Ireland's most significant pilgrimage destinations. The afternoon is spent in vibrant Galway City, with time to explore the Latin Quarter, the Spanish Arch, traditional pubs, and the waterfront before returning to the manor.

Day 4 — Westport House & Kylemore Abbey

A visit to Westport House in County Mayo reveals centuries of aristocratic history — built on the site of Pirate Queen Grace O'Malley's castle and home to the Browne family for nearly 300 years. The group then continues to the iconic Kylemore Abbey in Connemara, a neo-Gothic estate set against misty mountains and a mirrored lake.

Day 5 — Carrowmore Cemetery, Parke's Castle, Glencar Waterfall & Tobernalt Holy Well

A rich day of ancient and sacred sites begins at Carrowmore Megalithic Cemetery — Ireland's largest collection of prehistoric tombs, dating back over 5,000 years. The group continues to Parke's Castle on the shores of Lough Gill, then to Glencar Waterfall (which inspired W.B. Yeats), and finally to Tobernalt Holy Well, a site of quiet spiritual significance used for secret Catholic masses during the Penal Laws era.

Day 6 — Belleek Pottery, Marble Arch Caves & Enniskillen

The tour heads into Northern Ireland for a guided tour of Belleek Pottery in County Fermanagh, where craftspeople have produced world-renowned Parian porcelain since 1857. The group then descends into the spectacular Marble Arch Caves — an 11.5km limestone cave system explored by boat and on foot — before finishing the day with free time in the charming lakeside town of Enniskillen.

Day 7 — Rest Day at Temple House

A full free day on the estate with no planned excursions. Optional activities include paddleboarding, guided nature walks, boating on the lake, and yoga (instructor available on request). Guests are equally welcome to simply relax, explore the grounds, and enjoy the peace of the manor.

Day 8 — Travel to Dublin & Fitzpatrick's Castle

The group departs Temple House and travels to South Dublin, checking into Fitzpatrick's Castle in Killiney for the final night. Guests can enjoy the castle's pool, spa, restaurants, and bars, or head into Dublin for a few hours of independent exploration.

Day 9 — Departure from Dublin Airport

Guests are transferred to Dublin Airport for return flights home. Sufficient time should be allowed for international check-in and customs clearance.
