9 days | Jul 18 - 26, 2027 | $2715
Trip Overview
Mysteries of Romania with Michelle Reuss is a 9-day / 8-night small-group paranormal and cultural tour running July 18–26, 2027, led by psychic medium, demonologist, and paranormal investigator Michelle Reuss in partnership with Secret Ireland Tours LLC. The tour ventures deep into Romania — from the streets of Bucharest to the misty Carpathian Mountains, the medieval citadels of Transylvania, and the rural wooden churches of Maramureș — combining haunted history, supernatural folklore, and rich cultural experiences into one sweeping journey. The group travels by comfortable motor coach with an expert Romanian driver, stays in 3 and 4-star en-suite hotels throughout, and arrives and departs through Bucharest and Cluj airports respectively.
The itinerary is packed with landmark experiences that range from chilling to awe-inspiring. Guests visit Bran Castle — the fortress most closely associated with the Dracula legend — as well as the supposed burial site of Vlad the Impaler at Snagov Monastery, the birthplace of Vlad III in Sighișoara, and the eerie ruins of Râșnov Fortress. Beyond the paranormal, the tour takes in the fairy-tale grandeur of Peleș Castle, the extraordinary underground salt mine of Salina Turda, the UNESCO-listed Viscri village (home to King Charles III's restored farmhouse), the colorful Merry Cemetery of Săpânța, the wooden churches of Maramureș, and guided city walks through Bucharest and Cluj-Napoca. A welcome lunch and one group evening meal are included, and Michelle Reuss brings her expertise in psychic mediumship and spiritual investigation throughout.
Included in the price are airport transfers, 8 breakfasts, 1 welcome lunch, 1 evening meal, all venue entry fees on the itinerary, a comfortable motor coach with expert Romanian driver, a Secret Ireland Tours guide, Michelle Reuss for the full tour, and all hotel taxes and charges. Lunches, most evening meals, international flights, travel insurance, laundry, personal room charges, and tips are not covered. Full balance is due 60 days before departure, and installment plans are available on request.

Itinerary
Day 1 — Bucharest: Old Town, Stavropoleos Monastery & Welcome Meal
The tour begins with a traditional Romanian welcome lunch before a guided walking tour through the cobblestone streets of Old Town Bucharest — nicknamed "Little Paris of the East" — taking in elegant architecture, hidden courtyards, and the ornate 18th-century Stavropoleos Monastery. The evening stroll along Calea Victoriei leads back to the hotel for a welcome dinner where guests meet Michelle Reuss and the tour guide goes over the itinerary.
Day 2 — National Village Museum, Ceaușescu Mansion & Snagov Monastery
The group visits the open-air Dimitrie Gusti National Village Museum, where centuries-old wooden houses carry an atmosphere of quiet unease reported by many visitors. The tour then moves to the Ceaușescu Mansion — preserved largely as it was during the communist era — before heading to the island-bound Snagov Monastery, said to be the final resting place of Vlad the Impaler.
Day 3 — Peleș Castle, Pelișor Castle & Sinaia Monastery
The group travels into the Carpathian Mountains to the fairy-tale Peleș Castle, a stunning royal palace with ornate halls and a reputation for supernatural activity. The adjacent Pelișor Castle — residence of King Ferdinand and Queen Marie — adds Art Nouveau elegance and more ghostly tales. The day closes with a visit to the peaceful 17th-century Sinaia Monastery before settling in for the night in Sinaia.
Day 4 — Râșnov Fortress, Black Church & Tâmpa Viewpoint
A dramatic day in and around Brașov begins at Râșnov Fortress, a hilltop medieval stronghold with a long history of ghostly reports. The group then visits the imposing Black Church — a Gothic landmark scarred by centuries of fire and said to carry a haunting resonance — before taking in panoramic views over Brașov from the Tâmpa Viewpoint. Overnight in Brașov.
Day 5 — Bran Castle, Viscri Village & King Charles House
The most iconic stop of the tour: Bran Castle, the fortress most closely associated with the Dracula legend, perched dramatically on its rocky hill. The afternoon brings a complete change of pace in the UNESCO-listed village of Viscri, where cobblestone lanes, whitewashed houses, and a fortified church offer a window into traditional Transylvanian life. The group visits King Charles III's lovingly restored Saxon farmhouse within the village.
Day 6 — Sighișoara Citadel, Vlad Dracul House, Church on the Hill & Historic Cemetery
A full day in Sighișoara — one of Europe's best-preserved medieval citadels and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The group visits the birthplace of Vlad III Dracula, climbs the famous covered Scholars' Stairs to the Gothic Church on the Hill, explores its rare underground crypt, and wanders the atmospheric historic German cemetery shaded by ancient trees with panoramic views over the citadel.
Day 7 — Salina Turda & Cluj-Napoca Walking Tour
The group descends into the extraordinary Salina Turda — a former salt mine transformed into an underground wonder complete with vast illuminated caverns, an underground lake, and a Ferris wheel. The afternoon brings a guided walking tour through the vibrant Old Town of Cluj-Napoca, Transylvania's most dynamic city, with its Gothic churches, Baroque squares, and lively café culture.
Day 8 — Merry Cemetery, Bârsana Monastery & UNESCO Wooden Churches
A final day of remarkable contrast in the Maramureș region begins at the famous Merry Cemetery in Săpânța — a uniquely colorful site where brightly painted wooden crosses and witty folk epitaphs celebrate life rather than mourn death. The group then visits the serene Bârsana Monastery, a masterpiece of traditional wooden architecture, followed by one of the UNESCO-listed Wooden Churches of Maramureș.
Day 9 — Departure from Cluj Airport
The group is transferred to Cluj Airport for return flights home, marking the end of an extraordinary journey through Romania's haunted history, medieval landscapes, and living folk traditions.

I cannot put into words how wonderful the trip to Ireland we just returned from was, and I highly recommend Secret Ireland Tours.

Mai was great to work with in the time leading up to our trip; she was sure to provide us all the important information that we would need to prepare for our trip, without wasting our time with useless information or too many Zoom calls that feel unhelpful or confusing, as we had experienced with another tour company in the past. I will always recommend events and trips with our ambassador, Aaron Sagers; when you travel with Aaron, you are always in for a great time. And I can't say enough about our Irish tour guide, Adrian; not only does he know so much about Ireland's folklore and history that he wants to share, but he is also just a wonderful person with whom we all had a genuine connection and now feels like a family member. Thank you, Ado, we appreciate you so much. Our tour bus driver, Ronan, was just lovely; he kept us safe, got us where we needed to go, and shared lots of laughs with us as well. We experienced a truly unforgettable 9 days in Ireland thanks to Mai, Adrian, Aaron, and Ronan.

Everything seemed to operate quite smoothly (which I am sure Adrian was a big part of), and after taking another spooky tour overseas in the past that did not go as well, it was much appreciated how seamless this tour was. We never had to worry about a lack of communication, itinerary changes, or that anyone would be left behind. The structure of the tour allowed us some later morning starts as well as time every day to experience the location that we were staying in; to explore the town, and to see and do what the locals do. This was a big selling point of this tour for us, to not feel rushed every day and to have time to soak it all in. We also stayed at great hotels, which were at the least nice (as well as clean), but we even had a surprise stay in the most gorgeous castle rooms one night of our tour!

We appreciated the smaller size of our tour group (18 folks, not counting Adrian, Aaron, and Ronan), which allowed for a more personal connection with our guides, as well as with each other. By the end of the tour, we all felt like family, and it was quite an emotional goodbye, which, in part, I think was likely due to the smaller group size, which allowed us to get to know each other. It also didn't feel like you were just a number, as it can feel with a larger tour group. Every single person on the tour felt important, included, and a part of the group.

The itinerary was clear from day one when we signed up for this tour, and we were fortunate that there were no changes to our itinerary (likely due to thoughtful and good planning on Mai and Adrian's part), and instead, any changes to our itinerary were just enhancements or bonus surprises. It is good to know that you are going to get what you pay for with one of these types of tours. Adrian brought us not only to some well-known tourist locations but also to some off-the-beaten-path locations, making our tour feel more personalized and special.

I am so grateful that I was finally able to experience the beauty of Ireland and its people, and I already can not wait to return. I am grateful that we went on this tour with Aaron and Secret Ireland Tours, and we would love to attend another in the future. I will never forget this trip and the special connections that we made with so many while experiencing this beautiful country.
I had a great time on this trip. Ado, our guide, was full of stories and legends about the areas we were visiting. He was so organized and dedicated to be sure that we were all having a wonderful experience. Aaron added to the stories of folklore and hauntings that were a perfect complement to Ado’s. Too many highlights to choose from, but walking an alpaca will always be memorable, as will the trip to Inishmore. Such a fun group of people to travel with!
I hate when people say this in a review, but this time, it’s true: there are no words. Mai and her team curated a wonderful 10-day trip to Ireland, hosted by the amazing Aaron Sagers. The thoughtful details and care were evident during the entire trip. I have been on tours with other paranormal companies, and they don’t come close to Secret Ireland tours. I was never afraid that our itinerary was going to be suddenly changed, that anyone in our group would be left behind, or there would be a lack of communication.

Each stop was like stepping back in time; our guide, Adrien, was a seasoned storyteller who brought the stories of old Ireland to life. Each hotel had a special meaning that was woven into the tour. I will 100% be taking another tour with this company. Thank you, Mai, Adrien, and Aaron!
The trip was amazing. Mai Hernon is exactly the kind of person you want for your tour guide; communicative, consistent, compassionate, reliable, and someone who loves their job. She made sure everyone knew what to expect the next day, when to show up at the bus, and she made me feel taken care of when I fell ill. I'll always be grateful to her for her help, and for making this trip possible for me. Secret Ireland Tours LLC is the ideal company for the competent traveler.
We would like to thank Secret Ireland Tours LLC for a wonderful trip that we had. It was so magical. The Ambassador's Michelle and Brittany were wonderful. Our tour guide Andrian was so wonderful too. The knowledge that he knew about the places that we went to was amazing. Our bus driver Eddie was a wonderful person too. He got us safely to each location that we went to. We had such a wonderful time in Ireland. We loved every minute of it. I would recommend Secrect Ireland Tours to my friends and family.
