Lough Gill, Sligo.

Here we are at Lough Gill, which is just outside the town of Sligo. The lake Isle of Innisfree is on this lake. For those of you who don't know how special this little Island is, Well the great poet WB Yeats wrote the famous poem, "The Isle of Innisfree" and is has been turned into a song. 

This lake has many islands and the drive around it is stunning, any time of the year. Both Leitrim and Sligo share this lake. 

Parkes Castle is sitting on the edge of the lake and that is where you will get the boat tour that brings you up and down the lake. "The Rose of Innisfree" is a 73 seater with full bar and snacks and you have a tour guide who will tell you everything you want to know about the lake and Sligo.
